Why listen to me?

While I am not an expert in all things internet, I do have a lot of knowledge of my own personal experiences with the internet and computers.

I have been using computers since I was a tiny little nipper where I started with a spectrum 48K and then progressed to the far more powerful spectrum 48K+! Before you post something sarcastic yes I did move on from there. I have owned amiga's and pc's for the past 22 years. I have a degree in electrical and electronic engineering and I have been programming computers since I was 7 years old, so that would be around 33 years as an amateur programmer. Through my further education I have successfully used C, C++, Visual Basic, php, cgi and javascript programming languages on the PC. On the Amiga I have also used assembly language, C++, Amiga E and Amos.

I have knowledge of almost all peripherals and gadgets and of course I have programmed the occasional robot arm as part of my college and university days.

My knowledge of the internet does not go into web2.0 territory but I have a moderately successful language education website programmed completely in php where I have in the region of 80 self designed programs to carry out various tasks in the upkeep of the website. I have had to do all the SEO work myself, all the research myself and all the adsense optimizations myself.

I know that does not make me the definitive guru that everyone should bow down to, however it does give me a good perspective of an average website owner but with a deeper knowledge in the background running of a website.

I will not pull the wool over your eyes or try to confuse you more than you might be already, and I will always try to be as clear on my own experiences as necessary just in case I have had my own problems and they might help someone else to avoid those same problems.

I hope you find good information that helps you from this site, and if you have any comments please send them to me and I`ll try to reply as quickly as possible.

Regards
Jon
